In this tutorial, you will learn how to move windows within a wall using construction aids. Furthermore, we outline the usage of reference point tools to align objects. Consequently, applying these methods will help you draft floor plans more efficiently.<\/p>\n

1. Method 1: Move with Reference Point<\/h4>\n

This method is useful when you want to align a distinct point of the window (e.g., a bottom corner) to a specific position (such as an intersecting guideline).<\/p>\n

  • Initially, click the target window using your left mouse button to select it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • Subsequently, an automatic selection menu appears on your screen.<\/li>\n
    • Here, select the symbol for Move with reference point<\/code>. Alternatively, you can press the shortcut key R<\/code>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • Next, click on the specific point of the window that you want to grab (for instance, the lower left corner).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        • Afterward, move your mouse to the intended target position.<\/li>\n
        • Finally, left-click to place the window.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          2. Method 2: Constructional Support for Moving<\/h4>\n

          This second method allows the utilization of construction aids to place a window centrally or at a defined distance. Generally, these construction aids can be used for positioning any element, but we demonstrate it here with a window.<\/p>\n

          • First, click the window with your left mouse button to select it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            • Next, select the Move<\/code> symbol from the popup selection menu.<\/li>\n
            • Consequently, the window hangs centrally on your mouse cursor (indicated by a blue circle representing the default reference point). Now, you can apply the required construction aids.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              Applying Constructional Support Features<\/h4>\n

              • Select the window with the left mouse button.<\/li>\n
              • While moving the object, press the right mouse button to open the context menu. Then, navigate to Constructional support<\/code> > Centre point<\/code>. Additionally, you can press the shortcut key M<\/code>.<\/li>\n
              • Subsequently, click sequentially on the two reference points (e.g., two wall corners or guidelines) between which the window should be centered.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                • By default, the active grip point rests in the middle of the window.<\/li>\n
                • To shift this reference point to the left reveal edge, press the key combination CTRL + W<\/code>.<\/li>\n
                • Therefore, with every single keystroke, the reference point sequentially jumps further (Middle \u21fe Left \u21fe Right, etc.).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  [4:13] Placing the window at a fixed distance:<\/strong><\/p>\n

                  • If you need to place the window exactly 1.50 m away from a wall corner, utilize the distance function.<\/li>\n
                  • First, press the right mouse button and select Constructional support<\/code> > Point with distance from<\/code> (or simply press the shortcut key A<\/code>).<\/li>\n
                  • Next, click on the required reference point (e.g., the wall corner).<\/li>\n
                  • Afterward, type the distance into the dialogue window (e.g., “1.50”) and confirm with OK<\/code>. Ultimately, the window jumps to your intended position.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
