Welcome to our guide on navigating the cadvilla workspace. In this tutorial, you will learn how to switch your user interface between the modern Ribbon display and the classic Toolbar layout. Furthermore, we will show you how to define tool settings via context menus. Mastering these view management techniques will accelerate your daily architectural planning and overall workflow.<\/p>\n

Note: This tutorial is highly beneficial for users switching from older home designer programs (e.g., ArCon) who want to get accustomed to the newer interface. The modern Ribbon user interface has been available since cadvilla version 4.0.1.26.<\/em><\/p>\n

1. Switching the User Interface (Ribbons vs. Toolbars)<\/h4>\n

Generally, you can switch between the modern ribbon display and the classic toolbar representation at any given time.<\/p>\n

  • First, navigate inside the top menu to Settings<\/code> > User interface<\/code>.<\/li>\n
  • Then, click on Toolbars<\/code> to activate this older layout.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      2. Defining Settings via Context Menus (Input in Viewport)<\/h4>\n

      Inside the Ribbon interface, there are two distinct methods to access tool properties. First, let’s look at functions requiring graphical input directly inside your drawing plan.<\/p>\n

      • First, select the target function by navigating to Building<\/code> > Walls<\/code> > External Wall<\/code> > Between two points chain<\/code>.<\/li>\n

                • Inside the Project Viewer sidebar, you can see all currently open views. To switch, right-click your desired view.<\/li>\n
                • Consequently, select Set as current element<\/code>.<\/li>\n

                  • To display multiple view windows side-by-side, utilize the graphical view alignment tools found in your top icon bar.<\/li>\n
