You can work on the basis of your existing floor plan and transform it into a clear fire escape plan with just a few clicks. Simply add important symbols, colored escape routes, and legends via drag-and-drop. In this tutorial, we will show you step by step how to use the wizard and finish your plan professionally.<\/p>\n

1. Preparation and starting the wizard<\/h4>\n

  • First, open your existing cadvilla project for which the fire escape plan is to be created.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • Open the menue<\/code> and select Printer settings...<\/code><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      • In the Print window, click on Properties...<\/code> and then on the More...<\/code> (or Advanced) tab.<\/li>\n
      • Set the Papersize<\/code> to the desired format (e.g., A3<\/code>) and confirm all windows with OK<\/code>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        • Switch to the 2D & Layout<\/code> tab and click on the Wizard<\/code> function.<\/li>\n
        • The window for the import settings opens.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          • Choose the language<\/code> of your choice.<\/li>\n
          • Select the option Use settings of the active 2D view<\/code>.<\/li>\n
          • If necessary, adjust the Scale<\/code> (e.g., to 1:125<\/code>) and confirm with the TAB<\/code> key. The preview updates automatically.<\/li>\n
          • Under Paper<\/code>, check whether the size is correctly set to A3.<\/li>\n
          • Use the arrow buttons under Frame position<\/code> to optimally align the floor plan on the sheet. You can adjust the Step width<\/code> (e.g., to 3.00 m<\/code>) to move the frame faster.<\/li>\n
          • Under the Wall<\/code> section, you can define the 2D display, the fill style, and the fill color of the walls of the floor plan in the fire escape plan.<\/li>\n

            2. Draw guidelines and escape routes<\/h4>\n

            • Select 2D & Layout<\/code> > 2D guidelines<\/code> > Guideline<\/code> > Centred guideline<\/code> (or Free guideline<\/code>).<\/li>\n
            • Draw guidelines (e.g., centrally through the corridor or in the stair area) in order to be able to place the arrows exactly later.<\/li>\n
            • Tip:<\/em> Hold down Ctrl + W<\/code> to align the line exactly horizontally or vertically. Press Esc<\/code> to end the function.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              [07:33] Place location and escape arrows (drawing elements)<\/strong><\/p>\n

              • Go to the 2D & Layout<\/code> tab > Drawing elements<\/code> and select Set location<\/code>.<\/li>\n
              • Right-click to open the properties, select Properties<\/code> and set the Diameter<\/code> (e.g., to 1.00 m<\/code>). Place the location symbol in the desired room.<\/li>\n
              • Now select the first arrow under 2D & Layout<\/code> > Drawing elements<\/code> > Arrow, angled<\/code> (or Arrow, straight<\/code>) to draw the escape route.<\/li>\n
              • Here too, adjust the Width<\/code> of the arrows via right-click > Properties<\/code> (e.g., 0.30 m<\/code>) and click along the escape route along your guidelines.<\/li>\n
              • Complete the fire escape plan with the other escape arrows.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                3. Color rooms and place symbols<\/h4>\n

                • Select the Room 2D representation<\/code> function in the menu.<\/li>\n
                • Click Color<\/code> and choose a light green (e.g., LightGreen<\/code>)<\/li>\n
                • Click on Colour a room<\/code> and select the corridors and rooms that form the escape route.<\/li>\n
                • These are now automatically colored green.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  [12:47] Insert fire protection and rescue signs<\/strong><\/p>\n

                  • Open the Catalog<\/code> on the right side and navigate to 2D Symbols<\/code> > Fire escape plans<\/code>.<\/li>\n
                  • Under Fire safety signs<\/code>, select e.g. the fire extinguisher and place it in the plan with the left mouse button held down.<\/li>\n
                  • To adjust the size, select the symbol, right-click > Properties<\/code> and change the Width<\/code> (e.g., to 0.80 m<\/code>). Make sure that Maintain aspect ratio<\/code> is activated.<\/li>\n
                  • Use the functions Move with reference point<\/code> and Copy with reference point<\/code> to align the symbols exactly on the walls and duplicate them.<\/li>\n
                  • Insert rescue signs (e.g., First aid or Evacuation assembly point) in the same way.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    4. Add legends and labels<\/h4>\n

                    • Click on 2D & Layout<\/code> > Legends<\/code> in the menu and select 2D Symbol legend<\/code>.<\/li>\n
                    • The legend is now attached to the mouse pointer. The dialog window shows which symbols are used in the plan.<\/li>\n
                    • Place the legend with a left-click on the plan.<\/li>\n
                    • Via the selection of the legend > right-click > Properties<\/code>, you can subsequently adjust the Width<\/code> of the legend.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                      [19:30] Place information texts (behavior in case of fire \/ emergency)<\/strong><\/p>\n

                      • Go to the catalog under Action plates en-GB<\/code>.<\/li>\n
                      • Drag and drop the text blocks for “Fire Action” and emergency conduct onto your plan and place them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                        • Select Text<\/code> > Item text<\/code>.<\/li>\n
                        • Click on your location symbol and select the text Position<\/code> to insert it automatically.<\/li>\n
                        • Via selection of the text > right-click > Properties<\/code>, you can adjust the text color (e.g., blue).<\/li>\n
                        • Use the Labeling<\/code> function to insert further free texts (e.g., “Office Building Salzburg, 2. Floor”) and position them on the plan. You can also change the font size (e.g., 5.0 mm<\/code>) and style.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
