How to move windows and doors with dx / dy
In this Video-Tutorial we show you how you can move a window with dx / dy in the 3D CAD house planning software cadvilla.
The basic workflow:
- To move windows with dx / dy is pretty simple. Therefore we select the window, the selected window gets displayed in red, and we choose for example the function “Move” in the selection menu.
- Now the window hangs on the cursor and the tool options window opens automatically. To switch into the tool options window we press the “SPACE” key. Here we can define the distances for dx and dy, with the “TAB” key we can switch between the single fields. To confirm the entry we can click on “OK” or we press the “ENTER” key.
- When we enter distances in the tool options window, we can also enter plus or minus values in the dx dy field. We enter for example a distance of 6,00 meters in the dx field, the result is that the window moves in the wall 6 meters to the right side. If we enter -6,00 meters the window will move 6,00 meters to the left side.
Of course we can also move and position doors in the same way.
