1. Selection of the Function and Wall Thickness

- To start, we need to create external walls with a dedicated thickness of 30 centimeters.
- Therefore, navigate to the top menu and accurately select
Building>Walls>External Wall>Polygonal with numerical input. - However, before you place your very first point, you must define the essential properties of this wall.

- In the 2D view, simply click the
right mouse buttonand selectProperties. - As a result, the
Properties 'Walls'dialog opens. Here, you adjust theThicknessexactly to0.30 m. - Once you are finished, confirm your entry by clicking
OK.
2. Schematic Entering of the Outline
[02:37] Sketching the Rough Shape
- During this initial step, the outline only needs to be drawn roughly (schematically) via mouse clicks. The exact measurements are completely irrelevant for now because they will be defined numerically later.
- Important Tip: By pressing and holding the
CTRLkey during your input, you activate the angular grid. Consequently, this forces the lines into predefined angles (e.g., 0°, 15°, 30°, 45°, 90°). Thus, it becomes incredibly easy to draw lines 100% vertically or horizontally. - Trace the general L-shape of the building by sequentially placing your corner points.

- As soon as the rough shape of your building is successfully sketched, you must finish the drawing mode.

3. Numerical Definition of the Wall Segments

- Right after canceling the schematic input, the
Tool optionswindow automatically appears for your numerical post-editing. This window can also be hidden or activated by pressing theWkey or theSpacekey. - The currently selected wall segment is prominently marked by a red line inside your floor plan.
[05:00] Defining Length, Angle, and Reference Point
- In this specific dialog, you can exactly define every single wall of the recently drawn polygon:
- First, look at the
Relating tosection. Here, you define to which specific part of the wall the measurements apply (e.g.,Wall axis,Left wall area, orRight wall area). The dynamic red marking jumps accordingly. - Next, type the exact
length(e.g., 13.00 m) and theangle(e.g., 0.00 degrees) into the respective input fields. - Afterward, click on the
edit next wallbutton to apply the values and immediately jump to the subsequent wall segment. (You can also use theedit previous wallbutton if needed). - Repeat this exact process for all remaining walls of the floor plan (e.g., entering 5.50 m at 90.00 degrees, or 8.30 m at 180.00 degrees).

Close wall contourto securely complete the shape. - Finally, click on

4. Displaying the Floor Area

- To visibly display the calculated square meter area directly in the plan:

left-mouse click(the room turns red). - Open the context menu with the

Floor area. In the text field right beside it, you can enter a prefix, for example, “FA”. - Confirm with
