Manual ceiling – Automatic ceiling – Ceiling visibility

In this Video-Tutorial we show you how you can use an automatic ceiling, how you can create a manual ceiling and how we can change the ceiling visibilities.

The basic workflow:

  •  In the cadvilla default settings the visibility of our ceiling is always deactivated. To activate the visibility of our ceiling we make a right mouse click in the desired view – and we select “Visibility”. We select under the register “Construction Elements” the point “Ceilings”.
  • To change the ceiling support of the automatic ceiling, we select a wall – right mouse click- “Properties”. At the Point “ceiling support” we can change the depth of the ceiling support.
  • To create a manual ceiling, we create in the first step a new floor. In the general floor settings we deactivate the point “Create automatic ceiling”. Another method is to deactivate the point “Create automatic ceiling” in the general floor settings of an existing floor. Therefor we make a right mouse click on an existing floor and we select “Properties”.
  • We can select the manual ceiling at “Building”-“Ceiling”-“Ceiling”-“Rectangle/Insert with polygon”. After we have entered a polygon we press the right mouse button and select “complete”.
  • We can enter a manual ceiling also with the help of guidelines. If we wanna place the ceiling in the middle of the wall, we recommend the function “Centered Guideline”.
  • Finally we can say, that the manual ceiling is perfect for situations where we cant use an automatic ceiling, for example if we wanna create a balcony with our ceiling. The big advantage of the automatic ceiling is that its way faster.
