After installing cadvilla it is not possible to start the program

After the installation of cadvilla V6 the program can not be started and instead it ends with an error message.

An error message with the following content is shown:

Application has been terminated!
The reason for terminating application was saved to your logfile.

The reason for the program abort is a faulty (not completed) installation of the Microsoft program Microsoft Visual C ++ 2015 Redistributable 14.0.23026

The installation of the Visual C ++ runtime environment could not be completed correctly, because a number of Windows updates are required for a correct installation. However, these Windows updates were not on the computer at the time of installation.

Solution:

  • Uninstall it cadvilla
  • If necessary, uninstall the program package Microsoft Visual C ++ 2015 Redistributable (via Control Panel -> Programs -> Programs and Functions) if it appears there.
(if the 64 BIT Windows system has been installed, uninstall the package with the suffix x64, otherwise with a 32 BIT Windows system the package with the addition x86)
  • Install ALL Windows updates
(via Control Panel -> System and Security -> Windows Update)
  • Download the Microsoft Visual C ++ 2015 Redistributable program package from the link below and reinstall it. The Runtime-Library Microsoft Visual C ++ 2015 Redistributable must be installed without errors! If this does not work, you may still try the alternative link for the program package below.
  • Reinstall cadvilla.

Download link for the package Microsoft Visual C ++ 2015 Redistributable

Microsoft Visual C ++ 2015 Redistributable (for 32 BIT Windows systems)
Microsoft Visual C ++ 2015 Redistributable (for 64 BIT Windows systems)

alternatively (if the installation of the Lirbrary with the above mentioned link does not run smoothly):

Microsoft Visual C ++ 2015 Redistributable (for 32 BIT Windows systems)
Microsoft Visual C ++ 2015 Redistributable (for 64 BIT Windows systems)

After that, cadvilla should start.
